Biography

David Lamont Wilson is an actor, sound designer, and a DJ working steadily in film and theatre in Washington, DC, since 2004.  During his final year at the University of Virginia in 2001, Wilson won the prestigious Washington Literary Society & Debating Union Fall Oratory Contest.  His Washington, DC area acting credits include work at Charter Theatre (Am I Black Enough Yet?), David is thrilled to have the privilege of working on another Alan Sharpe script, and being apart of another African-American Collective Theater production.  Mr. Wilson was last seen performing in the “All That Glitters” for Restoration Stage, and the inaugural production of Factory 449 “4.48 Psychosis”.  Favorite productions include roles in the critically acclaimed Charter Theatre production of “Am I Black Enough Yet?”, “The Oedipus Plays” at The Shakespeare Theatre, “Heaven” and “Big Love” for the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, “American Buffalo”, “Inns & Outs” and “Edmond” at Source Theatre; “Invisible Disability” and “The Boy Who Walked Backwards” at the Kennedy Center; and the European Tours of “The Cutting Edge” for Imagination Stage and “Julie” for Scena Theatre.  His resume also includes productions at Arena Stage, Olney Theatre, and the Folger Shakespeare Theatre, as well as a featured role on NBC’s award winning Homicide: Life On the Streets and HBO’s The Wire.  He is currently shooting the new independent film “Flesh To Flesh” by Lee Hayes, and can be seen later this season in “The Saint Plays” for Factory 449.

As a sound designer, Wilson has designed over 30 theatrical productions, including his most recent designs of Queens Girl In The World and Queens Girl in Africa in Rep for Everyman Theatre Company. Other recent designs include the world premiere of “Goodnight, Tyler” at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre, Studio Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of “Wig Out” by Tarell Alvin McCraney, and “The Agitators” productions at Geva Theatre and Mosaic Theater. Favorite sound designs include the Atlanta Alliance Theatre production of “The C.A. Lyons Project” (Suzi Bass Award nominated), The Welder’s “Not Enuf Lifetimes,” Charter Theatre’s production of “Am I Black Enough Yet?”, “Dead Man Walking” at American University, and “Titus” for the Washington Shakespeare Theatre. His resume also includes designs at the Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Arena Stage, Imagination Stage, the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, and Georgetown University to name a few.

Wilson is the founding owner of DJ Dave Entertainment, a DJ and event production company, celebrating 10 years of business in 2019 and booking of over 200 events! Wilson is a 2003 graduate of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts,
